REVIEW
Just
some years ago, when my family decided to book a flight to Bohol for a
Lenten-Summer vacation. I was exhilarated with
the thought that, finally, I was to travel by plane for the first time and I
can get to visit the places I was only used to seeing in my textbooks.
In the trip we got
to visit a lot of tourist attractions, the Chocolate Hills, Tarsier Conservation Areas, Floating Restaurant, Panglao Beaches are just some of
them, we rented a van and a tourist guide to help us in roaming around the province.
Within
a span of our 2-day Bohol experience, we got to a lot of places, and one which
is the Chocolate Hills, I was really amused to see it.
To get a better view of the hills, we even drove to the highest hill and went through a stairs that has more than a hundred-step, actually it’s tiring if you ask me, but I swear, it was worth it.
On top of the
hill, the other small hills are open for sight-seeing and picture taking, lots
of people also took pictures together with us.
And ofcorse I wont forget to
mention, the bell placed on top of the hill, they say you can ring it and wish,
but unfortunately, I didn’t get to wish because people were crowding over it.
Before
lunch, we decided to visit the Tarsier Conservation Area in Loboc, Bohol. On
the way to the Conservation Area, we stopped over at The Man-Made Forest to take pictures,
the guide told us that it is one of the attractions at Bilar, because it looks
similar to the forests we see in movies.
After that, we made it to the Conservation Area. We merely strolled
around and took pictures. This is honestly my first time in seeing an actual
tarsier, even though I’ve gone to a lot of zoos when I was younger.
I also learned that tarsiers can be suicidal when exposed to camera flash, so a lot of signages saying cameras should not have flashes when visiting the tarsiers.
I also learned that tarsiers can be suicidal when exposed to camera flash, so a lot of signages saying cameras should not have flashes when visiting the tarsiers.
After
visiting the tarsiers, we decided it was really time for lunch. The guide
suggested we eat at the very famous Loboc River Lunch and Dinner Cruise, it’s
an eat-all-you-can lunch so you won’t need to worry about your stomachs
because, honestly, after eating I never even worried about our dinner, and
besides, the food is really, really good.
The entire cruise took one hour or
so, back and forth from the Loay Bridge to the Loboc Town Proper where we
watched the folks dance through their native beats together with some animals
like gecko and a small wild cat also called musang.
Full
from the delectable foods served in the cruise, we decided to look for a place
where we would stay for the night, the guide told us Panglao is the place we
should look into if we’d like an experience of Bohol’s finest beaches.
After
checking in the internet, we decided to check in at Dumaluan Beach Resort in
Panglao. Our guide also approved of it and mentioned of the good feedback it
usually gets from the tourists.
Although there weren’t rooms available that day
since we didn’t book prior to our arrival and the only ones available are the
cottages, we decided on renting one, it’s actually not that bad. The cottage is quite near the shore so you
wouldn’t need to walk too far just to take a swim.
I really enjoyed our stay
here, the white sand beach, the sunrise and sunset, the view, the friendly
crew, I think it has all the things I’d need for a really relaxing vacation.
The
next morning, we checked the Baclayon Church and some historical houses in Bohol
before returning to the airport for the flight back to Manila.
What
I especially loved in our 2-day Bohol experience are the new things I
discovered while having fun and relaxing at the same time, I think what makes
our journey really memorable is all the fun experiences I got to learn a lot
from, the things and animals I got to encounter, and the fun that I will always
remember.
